For the past two weeks, I have been talking nonstop about the recipes and goodies served at my daughter’s first birthday party. Today I thought I would put them all together in one post with lots of fun pictures from Ava’s big day! I hope you enjoy!
Ava’s First Birthday Party
The invitation – pink, of course!
Welcome sign on the front door.
Pink Lemonade to start the party.
Yes, that is my daughter’s face attached to rolled silverware…..it was a LONG winter…we had a blizzard…so there!
Cranberry Walnut Chicken Salad Sandwich
Pasta Salad with Feta Cheese and Spinach
Grape Pear Salad – this is one of my daughter’s favorites!
Pink Hydrangea! YUM! Okay, it’s not edible…but still yum!!!
Now it’s time for the best part!
Wholesome First Birthday Cupcakes
Ricotta Chocolate Cups with Raspberries
M&M’s with Pink Chocolate Stars
This is my Mother-in-Law’s recipe….so simple……Dissolve a 3 oz pack of gelatin (we went with strawberry) in 1 cup of hot water then combine with 1 cup of vanilla ice cream. Pour into the vessel of your choice and refrigerate until set.
Chocolate Vanilla Raspberry Layer Cake
And, of course, the birthday girl’s Wholesome First Birthday Cake!
Once everyone at the party was on a sugar high, it was time to write letters! Yes, letters. I asked everyone to write a letter to Ava that we will seal in envelopes and then give to her on her 18th birthday. I am so excited about these letters and truly hope that she will know how much she is loved!
Happy Birthday Baby Girl! Love, Mom

Wow! You have outdone yourself. She is such a cutie!
W,
This is the MOST darling first birthday spread I have ever seen. You are so creative!
I don’t know who wrote to Ava on her 18th – but my Grandfather wrote me a letter to be opened on my 16th and it was SO special. My mom didn’t tell me it existed until the morning of my birthday. I’m glad Ava will have a similar experience.
xo
Thank you!!! I am so excited about the letters! All the grandparents and Aunts and Uncles wrote a letter!
Gorgeous and the food looks amazing!
Aww, this is so sweet! I love how you found such perfect foods to coordinate with your pink theme! I’m going to have to try those jello ice cream cups – yum! Looks like her special day was fantastic!
