Apple Snack

One of Ava’s favorite words is “snack”, though it doesn’t really come out like that it sounds more like “naks”.  I have to agree with her….I like snacks.  So much so that my husband refers to me as the Snack Queen.  Yes, I’m okay with that; I will wear that title proudly!  During the Fall season one of our favorite “naks” is honey crisp apples!  A Red Delicious apple is tasty but it doesn’t even compare with a honey crisp apple.  If you haven’t tried one, splurge and try it!

Honey crisp apples are a bit of a splurge, but they aren’t around very long and in my opinion they are well worth it!  And yes, I am well aware of the fact that referring to a splurge in the produce aisle seems a little strange.  But I’m also the girl that goes on vacation and is very excited to check out the local grocery store.  Okay?  Okay!

Apple Snack

  • 1 Honey Crisp Apple
  • 1 -2 Tbsp Nut butter (your choice – peanut butter, almond butter, etc.)
  • 1 Tbsp Granola (Here is a tasty Pumpkin Granola Recipe)
  • 1 Tbsp Mini Chocolate Chips

Turn the apple on it’s side and slice all the way through the core.

Just for the fun of the season I used mini leaf and acorn cookie cutters to cut out the core in the center of the slice.  You can use a small round cutter as well.

Simply spread some nut butter on half of the apple slices, sprinkle on granola and mini chocolate chips and top with the remaining apple slices.

These make such a healthy and satisfying snack for anytime of the day!

Enjoy and Happy Fall!

Whitney
